The Project
Located on the tropical island of Hainan, the Sea Flower Island Yacht Club and the attached Marina Promenade is designated as one of the engine projects of the residential community of Sea Flower Island.
The yacht club is designed as a central floating island, with the pontoons conveniently converging towards its center. The dynamic roof shape provides large open windows facing the bay, while extended areas efficiently protect against the very vertical sun rays, strongly minimizing the overheating of the glass surfaces.
The wide central bridge allows electric buggies access for crew and deliveries to the yacht as well as providing convenient access for disability vehicles also. The overall massing seafront complex and commercial street revolves around the concept of "sea waves", with curvaceous roofs that echo the design of the yacht club and provide comfortable sheltered spaces during extreme weather conditions.
