The Project
NDA's innovative solution for the redevelopment of Xiaomeisha - one of Shenzhen's earliest natural bays to be developed for tourism - has been selected for development in the final competition stage after a complex selection process that involved over 40 international design teams.
The concept revolves around the idea of extending the Ocean Park's functions into the entire bay area, thus maximizing the tourist capacity in a limited space through multi-layered disposition of functions; 9 special function zones are created, with more than 120 activities designed to appeal to all customer groups and to function in all kinds of weather conditions. The futuristic sky observation system and the elevated promenade are meant to link all the hot spots, activating the preserved bay area, promoting the whole East Shenzhen Tourist Loop, and becoming a new touristic landmark of the Pearl River Delta.
